Recently Steph and I, along with two of our friends, joined twenty other women for a night of painting and creating. A light dinner, delicious dessert, and yummy margaritas completed the fun!
Creating a hand-painted piece is simple!
- Choose your bisque. There are tons of pieces to choose, from plates to platters to ornaments.
- Choose your paint colors. Adina, the owner, is there to help if needed!
- Paint away! You might even try some of the different techniques out there, such as using soap and paint to create bubbles to pour over your piece.
- Once finished, leave your piece to be fired. You'll receive a call once it's ready!
To get the most out of your studio time, follow these five tips:
- Tip #1 - Use Pinterest to find inspiration for what you want to create, like Steph did with her adorable birthday plate! We've created a Ceramic Inspiration pinboard just for you!
- Tip #2 - Go with a girlfriend or a group! It's more fun to create with friends around. Plus they can give you feedback!
- Tip #3 - Be bold! Don't be afraid to paint it all and use lots of color, especially your first time.
- Tip #4 - Be prepared for the cost of the bisque, which is in addition to the minimal studio fee. Small items, such as ornaments, are only a few dollars, but larger items like platters or vases can be more. (My milk jar was $13, and Steph's scalloped plate was $20.)
- Tip #5 - Look around and ask for help! There are tons of examples throughout the studio, and Adina is great at giving ideas and technique tips.

Love the plate! Too cute! Great idea for the one in the family celebrating THEIR birthday to make them feel special! I did take Bell there and she had a ball painting a FROG piggy bank. I think she could have painted all morning and she is only 2 and 1/2 years old. So great fun for grandmas looking for something fun to do with grandkids too!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Great, for little ones to feed their creativity!
