I love going to Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings! It gives me a chance to get out in the cool of the morning and my sweetie a time to himself. My must stop is the tomato man. Once you eat farm fresh, store tomatoes just don't measure up. I also hit the olive oil lady, the nuts and fruit lady, the honey lady, and look for a good supply of fruits and veggies. The best thing I ever bought was cherums at KMK Farms. Cherums are a cross between cherries and plums. Amazing!
What a great list of reasons for loving the market! Good suggestions with your favorite booths and vendors, too. I've never had a cherum...if I see one, I'm going to try it! When are they in season?
I really loved getting the recipe on Saturday and I already made it! It is delicious and easy! So they showcase a different recipe each month? I was hoping it was weekly.
Oh, great Amanda! Was that the ratatouille? How did it turn out? Yes, it's monthly...but you can get the last few months at the info table, so you'll have a few to keep you going :)
I've had two main staples at the Farmer's Market this summer: Lindcove Ranch lemonjuice (which I use to make lemonade that my boys devour!)and amazing nectarines. We always buy from the same seller... the one with 5-6 different types and little clear containers of samples. We prefer the yellow nectarines... always amazing!
Wow, I love the idea of buying lemon juice all ready to go! And nectarines...yum. You'll have to make a note of the name of the vendor next time, so you can let us know this fave spot of yours!
